@soph_sol haha yes sticking to the authors/fics that have already proven enjoyable is definitely safer—but we’ll run out of subs if we don’t search out new fics *sometimes*

@pagrus @twistylittlepassages they’ve historically been more hands off then i was personally comfortable with in terms of proactive moderation so not a shock but i had gotten the impression that was changing with the new mod team? shame

@soph_sol @yesterdaychild well, i have a bedside table with a coaster on it which helps bc i’m not just stuck holding the cup until i’m finished, i can put it down somewhere safe/clean if i need my hands or to move or something

also i have a pretty small teapot (200ml) and only drink green teas/oolong which i don’t add anything to so like, the potential damage if i *do* spill a partially drunk cup is pretty low

But ymmv of course, i spend enough time in bed that if i didn’t compromise a bit on beverages i’d end up pretty dehydrated which definitely incentivizes normalizing them more than i might otherwise haha

@yesterdaychild @soph_sol i’ve gotten in to cultivating the joy of eating breakfast and then taking ones tea/coffee back to bed in part due to this exact issue

rebel jesus may either hit particularly well or particularly poorly depending on the exact brand of christmas disillusionment you’ve got going on….everything else i think the track titles are pretty explanatory as to the vibes

@twistylittlepassages i think this year may be the one which tips me fully into “disillusioned” rather than merely “mixed” about Christmas but the Cheiftans Bells Of Dublin album is still on the good list for me
