Oh HEY, while I’m drunk at my work Christmas party: why do people not like amnesia as a trope? Speaking generally here, as I do like it, or at least I think I do.
@villainousfriend Like most things I'm picky about it xD if it leans too hard into second hand embarrassment tropes, or mistaken identity in some versions of the trope, it can ping my emotion receptors in a dissonant fashion, which is not enjoyable

I’m also the kind of person who’s liable to go “that’s not how head injuries work fandom PLEASE” so (for settings where theres not magic or curses or whatever) foregrounding a very thats not how head injuries work plot device is likely to have me clicking out of the fic for that reason also
