HOW many fics and short stories have I read (or started then abandoned) in the last few days, none of which I actually enjoyed?

too many. the answer is too many.

"but maybe the next one will be good!" is the eternal cry

nope, the next one was not good. the short story I just read is competent enough to be REALLY FRUSTRATING in how very much I'm mad about the entire underpinnings of how the premise is handled!!!! AUGH.

damn, I just read a story that was ALMOST good, like I was so so into it for almost all of it, and then the ending just....fizzled out and ended abruptly. I hate that when that happens!

@soph_sol your struggles are v relatable i’ve had SUCH a time finding fics lately

@Satsuma sometimes it's a real struggle! and sometimes it's because I'm inexplicably ignoring the ao3 subscription emails in my inbox in order to brave the wilds of the unfiltered fandom tag 😅

@soph_sol haha yes sticking to the authors/fics that have already proven enjoyable is definitely safer—but we’ll run out of subs if we don’t search out new fics *sometimes*

@Satsuma yes exactly! and I don't want to miss out on the good stuff being posted by authors I don't know!

Follow

@soph_sol yes!!! but alas, so many of the writers i don’t know do not satisfy
