@Cyannin this is fascinating, i’ve never seen crows go that hard on digging up turf! i wonder what it is they’re eating….
re: sportsball
@wallhackio oh no :(
sportsball
@wallhackio that bad?
@lookitmychicken that sounds quite frustrating! is it a different yarn then you’ve previously used? maybe its twistier or something
@wallhackio @The_T megamind is the protagonist and by the end of the movie unequivocally the hero
@wallhackio @The_T if i recall correctly incels being bad is a fairly major plot point so
@Coxy @The_T pu erh definitely does have a bit of a funk i can see working for this, but i’m surprised they went for plain oolong instead of something smokier—lapsang souchong or similar.
when i polled the household on what ingredients they’d put in we had apparently all separately thought of roasted barley and carob so clearly we were thinking in a diff direction than the makers
@alis can sharkey use jortage ( https://jortage.com )?
@amy someone tried to argue with me about a semi-obscure fact in a very long novel and i was like “understandable to get this wrong but weird that you’re being so insistent about it?” and then a few days later i found out they’d only seen the TV adaptation, which doesn’t even cover that portion of the novels plot and i just ????
@rigormorphis yeah i’m not even a hockey fan and i would be irritated by that!
@soph_sol i got the vibe that the sub is uncomfortable talking about cracking DRM which is often necessary in those cases—there’s juuuuust enough discussions of paper etc that just happen have no specifics as to the book(s) being printed attached
@kate looks good!
@kate thosell be some cakey cookies
covid, asking for advice
@skippingmoonrocks as for taking care of yourself: if you have a daily pill regimen, adding cetirizine (or another daily antihistamine) and melatonin (at night obv) may somewhat reduce your transmissibility and risk of getting long covid. The obvious stuff like resting, trying to eat whatever you can keep down, & drinking lots of fluids (bonus if they’re partially pedialyte/gatorade/skratch/your electrolyte of choice here) are all also important. especially the REST bit! really try not to push yourself both while sick and in the coming weeks when you’re no longer sick but still recovering.
Reducing transmission: air purifiers and masking with an n95 (or your local equivalent standard) are the best ways of reducing transmission within a space. Unfortunately expensive esp on short notice but if you don’t already have them reach out to your community and see if anyone can deliver at least box of masks (both masks and air purifier is better though.) Keep yourself an d your germs to one area where your housemates don’t go (pref one with an air purifier) as much as possible—ask your people to deliver you food & drinks as much as they can, so you don’t have to enter the common areas as often (they can leave it outside the door to your room or come in and put it somewhere whilst masked). If you have to enter common areas, wear an n95 mask. Encourage your housemates to mask as much as they can. If you can use a separate bathroom from them, do.
@campbell psychology / building confidence presumably
@imp !!!! congrats!!!!!!
food
@twistylittlepassages yeah the weather took a sudden turn cold last night, so we are definitely those kinds of wanting nice warm winter foods here—no soup but we did have colcannon for dinner (mashed potatoes mixed with greens essentially) which is similarly warm and cozy
food
@twistylittlepassages sounds tasty!
