I am going insane. Since last night I have cast on to knit a hat and joined to work in the round, and have done it 4 times, and every time I have somehow twisted when joining so that I have to rip out and do it again.

I have done this hundreds of times in the past. I know how to do this.

The first couple of times, I shrugged and ripped and tried it again.

The last 2 times, I have been so damn careful. I've even changed up my method (using 2 circulars instead of magic loop).

And it's *still* twisted.

What is going on.

@lookitmychicken that sounds quite frustrating! is it a different yarn then you’ve previously used? maybe its twistier or something

@Satsuma it's just a smooshy hand-dyed sock yarn of a type that I've used many many times before.

The problem was my technique.

I don't know why it was such a persistent problem this time when it's only happened occasionally in the past.

Maybe it's a good thing, though?? Since I had to focus so much to figure it out, it's probably less likely to happen next time.
