@JessMahler @Canageek Right now the conversation is mostly how we should implement non-absentee mail voting (aka you don’t need a reason you just prefer to vote by mail) — generally everyone’s in favor but for dumb legal reasons its difficult to implement

@Canageek @JessMahler voting in the US is administered locally so there’s no real answer to “how do USians do it”. In my state anyone can vote early at any of the early voting locations (there are a bunch, i think it’s maybe all the polling places that aren’t schools?) in the ten days leading up to the election, and they have all that info online right next to your registration. I think they print your nearest early voting location on your polling card also.

Alternatively if you register to vote absentee, then they mail your ballot out as soon as it is finalized and you can return it in person or by mail basically whenever. So some people are voting well over a month early that way also

@rowyn @vicorva @andrewt @ljwrites i think the difference for few is whether you have an “a” in front — “a few people agree” clearly implies you mean a small countable number whereas “few people agree” (to me at least lol) does not

@ysabet those both seem like plausible factors! there is also some evidence that holding warm things (like say, a bowl of food) can improve ones mood
