I appreciate that sometimes when my brain weasels start gnawing for no immediately obvious reason (besides, y'know, everything), having supper does actually help.

What I don't know is how much it's the actual eating that helps versus mealtime being something that generally forces me to get up and relocate and put at least part of my attention on something else for a while. (Or maybe it's a combo. Who knows.)

@ysabet those both seem like plausible factors! there is also some evidence that holding warm things (like say, a bowl of food) can improve ones mood
