@Anke huh not sure what they’re doing with the cream of tartar, that doesnt seem necessary for a simple sauce but yeah the other two will likely get you for a lot of US caramel recipes 😅

@artcollisions eh i mean on the other hand, the property beside us did some work a few years back which lead to all of their rainwater getting funneled into our yard—suddenly all our plants were drowning! Not saying @platypus has made those kinds of changes, or that her neighbor has any reason to think she did! but there are definitely circumstances when its reasonable for your neighbors to get annoyed about your rainwater drainage and ask you to fix it.
@kristinagehrmann how common is it to have mail totally covering ones hands, like that second image? it seems deeply uncomfortable, but I suppose getting stabbed in the hand would be worse

@ajroach42 we have a fruiting stand growing near us, and have also planted a number of them (which are still too young to fruit but definitely will when they’re older)
The fruit is good, but even without it they serve as nurseries for the zebra swallowtail (who’s caterpillars eat nothing but pawpaw leaves)
Anyway please really do read the second half and click all the org links--there's a lot of great fannish orgs out there who get swallowed up by the monopoly the OTW has on fannish money and volunteer times, a fact which deserves to be rectified on its own merits even before you consider how egregiously the OTW has abused its volunteers and the trust of its members
