@twistylittlepassages yeah it may not be practical, and it might end up backfiring on me (ie. most people dont care enough to sort but when faced with the two options choose ‘less plastic’) but i do think there are ways to usefully narrow the search scope besides sorting by which gender / anatomy a pair is traditionally associated with!

@arisingvoice @pagrus @twistylittlepassages @eldaking @JockJamJen as someone who has strong feelings about synthetics (namely “no” a ‘10% plastic or less’ and ‘10% plastic or more’) sorting system would make a lot of sense—leave the super-stretch to people who’ll appreciate it!

@Rozzychan personally i’d just display images remained uncropped like tumblr but i get that it can be a lot to scroll thru if someones added a bunch to one post
however you *can* control which imagine is shown as the default portion! On the website for your instance, as well as many mastodon apps you can select the “focal point” which will then be centered/included anytime the full image isn’t shown (the web app just click edit & then drag the circle around, my app Metatext uses a camera focal point icon to indicate)
@yesterdaychild @lookitmychicken @Rozzychan memory isn’t cheap but local posts are a drop in the bucket compared to caching the rest of fedi—I can only think of one instance of the top of my head (ephemeral.glitch.social) which deletes local users posts and its VERY clearly signposted there

Makes the timing after they’ve enlisted even more sus tbh, before I’d been like ‘well I guess this is one way to fill the gap where they’re not producing music’ like the docu but knowing they didn’t agree to it makes it feel more like they’re exploiting the enlistment headlines / taking advantage of the fact that BTS isn’t available for comment
And yeah agreed that this feels very different from someone who’s an actual fan creating a comic to share with other fans, which would have felt a lot more genuine
@pixelcats also unclear how much involvement the boys actually have in this. Like, is this just basically licensed fanfic or?
@pixelcats idk something about the “FAME” series framing is off-putting to me. Like yes, sure, they’re successful but the important part is not the fact that they famous, imo
