@djsundog lib/sanitize_ext/something something (there's only one file here so i don't remember what it's called)
#Ao3TagOfTheDay: I did not follow APA format
@bloodwrites @Satsuma @admin (just using lists + the advanced column interface is what i do but:
1. it's important not to forget to add someone to a list after you follow them!! lol
2. it really depends on what app you use as far as how ergonomic this is on mobile)
also if you're on an instance of 100 people and they each follow people on 100 mutually-exclusive instances that's still only a network of 10,000. how much scale do you need
this scales for as long as instance admins believe it is important. there is no limit. the internet isn't that large
there are shitty people on the fediverse but they're not admins, they're girlfriends of admins who fly under the radar because enough people here won't block a server just because of who the admin is dating, myself potentially included
or else they are just assholes who don't know how to shut up
but admins themselves? we have zero tolerance for any kind of sketchy shit lmao and if there is any hint you are abusing your power you will immediately cease to be in my network or my concern
i'm in a discord server where people are prone to be like “but what if an admin did X?” and i'm always like “well, they would be immediately blocked” and they are like “that doesn't mean anything!!” and i am like “no, listen. look. i promise you. it Means Something”
hey ignorant allies, i know this is complicated for you, but trans people already have a visibility/awareness day, it's MARCH 31

stop trying to schedule celebrations around the day we mourn our dead
@noelle i still refer to it as "Tootsuite Mastodon" in my head
re: programming language discourse, long
@noracodes there are certain kinds of data which it is easier to model in a tree-based structure like HTML or XML. there are certain kinds of transformations which it is easier to specify in Lisp. sometimes the most convenient way to specify a thing is with a CSS selector.
it's really tiring dealing with people whose entire model of programming boils down to just JSON. even for “traditional” programming tasks, data modelling, data selection, and data transformation are very important problem spaces. it's a real shame that “writing a good HTML file” is not treated as a technical skill the way that “writing a linked list” is. we have libraries for the latter; the former requires professional expertise.
Administrator / Public Relations for GlitchCat. Not actually glitchy, nor a cat. I wrote the rules for this instance.
