wish i had casual pokéfriends tbh everyone i know either plays competitively (which i respect but don’t have the energy/interest for) or has no interest in the games

i just want to share and trade pokémon like a gradeschooler okay

i’m also doing some extremely uninspired blasting through Red with a Fearow and a Jigglypuff, and am about halfway through Let’s Go!, and am at the Elite Four on Shining Pearl, and am not super far into Legends: Arceus, and am still doing Raid Battles and breeding and such in Shield

it was kind of a pain figuring out how to buy it through the eShop but i’m enjoying it a lot

playing like six different pokémon games simultaneously these days

@Satsuma no i meant on a separate key

british scribes are the ones who invented W as a separate letter (i’m saying british because i’m not clear on their exact “nationality” and it was probably a collaboration between the english and irish and welsh and cornish and who knows) [actually technically they first did UU and then they switched to Ƿ (from runic) but they switched BACK to UU when they dropped Þ and Ƿ from the alphabet but by that time it was so entrenched as a separate letter that it became W]; treating it as a mere variation of U would be an affront to the useful distinction they offered

@Satsuma i have to keep W separate as a matter of British pride

the part of you that wants to put U and V on the same key

anyway i think it’s sad that that is reputedly the best that american animation has to offer after all these years

Show thread

pixar is extremely open about the fact that all of their movies are the exact same formula they take pride in it actually

Show thread

imagine if pixar movies were as varied and imaginative as studio ghibli movies this is a joke such a thing could never come to pass

fastforward five years and kibi’s notes are riddled with alchemical symbols

@monorail this is sourced from the pokémon company’s own statements on the matter; i agree with you, but convincing games fans that they can make their own determinations on things like this is a difficult task

in the US it’s ¼ cup butter, ¼ cup milk

TIL kraft dinner in canada is cowards and only asks for 1TBSP butter per box

i don't want to write about greek and roman mythologies; it's been done

Show thread

this was part of a long complaint about how twilight princess’s depiction of a traditional european fantasy world in decay was simultaneously interesting and frustrating in that it meant that classical european texts like greek and roman mythologies were very relevant and useful cues

Show thread

i talk with my girlfriend about some of my twilight princess fanfic plans and i have to be like “yeah i need to be careful not to think too hard about breath of the wild when i’m doing this because the two are really not aesthetically compatible at all”

Show thread

only having played breath of the wild is fine, good even
