@lapis I do these things for myself every once in a while (when I have the energy) because I deserve nice things :clodsire_head::clodsire_tail:

you will crave this sandwich

@lapis I marinated top round beef in oil, balsamic vinegar, parsley, and garlic for 2 hours, then gave it a spice rub of salt+pepper+garlic+mustard and roasted it till rare

fried some Costco parmesan-rosemary bread in butter and gave both slices a healthy amount of kewpie mayo

Added some slices of roast beef and then two thick slices of a massive heirloom tomato from a local farm that I seasoned with salt and freshly cracked pepper

I added some arugula that I tossed in olive oil and Penzey's sandwich sprinkle

And I thinly sliced some bellavitano cheese

I made such a good sandwich last night it was unreal

Remembering in undergrad that part of my research required using this piece of shit simulation code written by a dozen different grad students that was held together by duct tape and a dream. It was my introduction to makefiles. Making any changes to that code was terrifying. When you compiled it the compiler would spew about 10,000 lines of warnings

@vaporeon_ (this is a joke obviously they knew python existed. But what they are doing is a perfect use case for python. They did eventually make python bindings to the C++ library physicists use to analyze particle physics data but it was too late, everyone just uses cling now)

@vaporeon_ because the people who made ROOT forgot that python exists

@vaporeon_ particle physicists used to use CINT, an open-source C++ interpreter

They switched to Cling in 2013

@vaporeon_ In high energy physics we used this for almost all of our data analysis

@coriander the image failed to load on my phone but I still favorited it because it was a post from my good friend coriander
