Mainly because pear butter has a grittier texture and there's not much you can do about that

@The_T @Breakfast @monorail anyway a reasonably easy soup is:

• dice onion, celery, carrot (or buy pre-diced from the produce aisle)
• dice potato into little chunks. you can leave the skins if you want to save time, they're good for you
• put onion celery carrots in at least a quarter cup of olive oil. (Or any other oil. Or at least 4 tbsp of butter.) don't be shy, fat carries flavor
• sautee the veggies for at least five minutes. The onions should get translucent, or if you're patient cook them until some get a touch of brown on the edges
• throw in some concoction of spices. any combination of oregano (1 tbsp or so), thyme (1 tbsp or so), rosemary (1-2 tsp or so), and bay leaves (3-4 if they're the size of your thumb, 1 if they're big as fuck). if you can mince garlic add at least four minced cloves with the precious spices, otherwise add at least 1 tbsp of jarred garlic. Stir all this around very quickly for no longer than 45 seconds.
• add water (or any unsalted beef/chicken/vegetable broth/stock from the grocery store). scrape the bottom of the pot with a mixing spoon to ensure no spices stuck to the bottom from the previous step
• add a shitton of black pepper. If you like spicy add a 1/4 tsp of cayenne. Add some salt. Bring to boil then let sit for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally
• add 2 tbsp of vinegar (or 1 squeezed lemon, or refrigerated lime/lemon juice, or any variety of vinegar). Taste the soup and add any additional black pepper, salt, vinegar, and cayenne until it's tasty
