@vaporeon_ no, the author is just using it to mean “while” here; in UK english it comes off as a bit furmal (like using “whom” correctly) but it’s not weird to use like it would be in the US

@vaporeon_ the short answer is that it means “while”, but would be considered stuffy, especially in american english

apparently it used to have a sense that was basically the same as the word ”meanwhile”, but that usage is obsolete

@vaporeon_ i think what's happening with PGP signatures is that attachments generally are historically regarded as suspect and the spam filter is just not even trying to make exceptions fur certain use cases
