Static IPv4 address would fix a bunch of my annoying problems and give me exciting new ones

The exciting new problems are that if I had a static IP, I'd definitely look into self-hosting e-mail

It is really annoying that our ISP does not give us static IP

I guess the easiest way would be to pay for a fake computer in the cloud with a static IP, and somehow configure that to forward requests to the real computer at home that runs the website?

@vaporeon_ no, i just mean i've never TRIED it myself, but i can't imagine why it wouldn't work

@vaporeon_ at my old apartment i would have needed to pay up fur a business account; at my new place i haven't bothered asking customer suppurrt about it yet; i just pay fur a fake computer
