@Lady i feel like my legal studies professors were also of this opinion but i will grant that it can be a bit harder to know what is an obvious and widely accepted claim in a cross disciplinary context

though this one feels obvious enough that theres really no excuse

@Lady i was told in college that obvious and widely recognized claims did not need citations and in fact probably shouldn’t be cited because doing so is misleading

@TheBookewyrme maybe i have just been burned too many times by otherwise reasonable and well researched people having massive blindspots about something because it conforms to their preexisting biases

@TheBookewyrme which would not be an unreasonable thing for an author to do in a vacuum, but given the confusion surrounding the issue in question i do feel like authors have a little bit of a responsibility to signal that they do not, in fact, believe this and are just depicting SY having bad takes

@wallhackio i see you are having a time discovering how much more online you are than your siblings

@TheBookewyrme people using “period typical” to refer to their complete assumptions about what the past was like with zero research or factchecking also drives me crazy so i feel u on this

and also i feel like the period messiness of xianxia in general / svsss in particular only makes the use of the term MORE inappropriate. like how can *anything* be period appropriate when we’ve thrown like a thousand years in a blender?????

@Betty ugh internet! i will have to attempt to figure out how to navigate bluesky well enough to find it then i guess

@Betty has the internet betrayed me or does that thread cut off somewhat abruptly mid Wickhams not!elopement turned actual elopement

joking, re: sportsball

@wallhackio @aschmitz lions fans get even more stressed when they win so i’m not sure it matters

@hoja tbf everyone also acts all weird at Eirika it just mostly goes over her head

@rowyn the briefing packet for this trip was perhaps a wee bit short on details 😂

@hoja damn thats unfortunate back to the drawing board

@hoja pink! probably isnt rich enough unfortunately

@totalclaireity i keep hearing about various places moving to restrict road access for teens on bikes/skateboards etc in various ways and this is definitely one of the reasons i find the concept so horrifying for sure. like, surely we want *more* people to have experience with being cyclists not less?

@hoja i would never let someone who plays for the chiefs into this house

@hoja unfortunately we dont have any rich people so we’d have to try to pull a packers and that is very difficult
