Like, if you treat your employees well they’ll generally stick around regardless of whether it’s their ““passion”” or whatever
@rowyn one time i was v casually like ‘oh yeah last time i got my hair cut i took of nine inches and no one even noticed’ and the person i was talking to got kinda indignant like ‘i would have noticed!!!’ sorry but you definitely didn’t 😂

@being i met one recently (the dr who / sherlock / keep calm and cary on variant) and it was a bit of shock bc i’d forgotten what they were like. Which made me realize how long it had been, it was like seeing a timetraveler from 2012 😂

@pagrus i’ve lived in a house with one since I was fairly young also (and am not asian) — i think if you already have some sort of slow/pressure cooker already enough of the features are duplicated that maybe it feels unnecessary? or if you just dont eat much rice / eat stuff like tahdeek that rice cookers cant do
but rice cookers do their primary job sooooo well and their secondary functions are also v convenient so like, I’ve only got 4 appliances total and I’d rank the rice cooker 2nd in terms of essentiality

@aldercone usually i have toast with butter and jam, but yoghurt and granola are also nice
maybe not a super doable option for teenagers specifically but my rice cooker has an steel-cut oatmeal option and I love the convenience of just throwing some grains in a pot with water, pushing some buttons, and waking up to breakfast having made itself (when i’m feeling ambitious i add a diced apple or some spices or a handful of dried fruit)
