i mean yeah, breath of the wild DOES have unserious graphics, but it’s still considered one of the best games ever made

@coriander the villains in Elementary are almost always either doctors, rich businessmen, or other cops they really nailed the profile of who is doing crime in New York
@coriander Elementary does a pretty good job of this; there are like two good cops but mostly it’s just Sherlock being an anarchist weirdo who works with them because they let him into buildings

@coriander the good news is that it was also definitely way cheaper to produce than Breath of the Wild
i think it will be fine; nintendo isn’t above making small-team, lower-budget, high-quality games to keep their IP fresh in-between blockbusters
@coriander oh yeah i mean 2D zelda is great and i’m sure it will be a fun game i just also know there is no way it is doing anywhere near the numbers of Breath of the Wild
it could be the best game ever made for the Switch and still never do anywhere near the numbers of Breath of the Wild, purely for genre reasons
@coriander excited for all the people who have been clamouring for a playable zelda for years to never play it because it’s a 2D action-puzzle game and not an open world cinematic adventure
i’m just saying you can divide Zelda games into the ones with songs and the ones without songs and the ones with songs are Always Better
the vibes do seem unfortunately like A Link Between Worlds where i’m sure it will be a fun and skillful game with interesting puzzles and dungeons but ultimately lacking in a lot of the narrative magic of the series
i’d feel a lot happier if they showed Zelda playing Any Instrument
they haven’t given up on 2D Zelda 🥲
