@witchfynder_finder pretty sure if i blocked you then you would just yell at me in my discord
the for loop, but not the actual loop, just the for part
for (
let
dayInMonth = 1 - (new Date (year, month - 1, 1).getDay() + 6) % 7,
dayInWeek = 1,
week = calendarBody.insertRow(),
seasonIndex = +Object.entries(Array.from(seasons.values())).filter(( [ _, $ ] ) => month > $.startMonth || dayInMonth >= $.startDay).pop()[0],
nextSeason = Array.from(seasons.values())[(seasonIndex + 1) % seasons.size]
; daysInThisMonth >= dayInMonth || dayInWeek % 7 != 1
;
dayInMonth++,
dayInWeek = (dayInWeek + 1) % 7,
week = dayInWeek == 1 ? calendarBody.insertRow() : week,
!(nextSeason.startMonth > month || nextSeason.startDay > dayInMonth) ? (
seasonIndex = (seasonIndex + 1) % seasons.size,
nextSeason = Array.from(seasons.values())[(seasonIndex + 1) % seasons.size]
) : void null )
@witchfynder_finder kid, *i’m* not even trans enough for the trans list
there are two types of people: those who know the exact cadence at which this is said on a visceral, emotional level, and non-Catholics
@witchfynder_finder still can be a dinosaur, cops can’t stop you
@witchfynder_finder by which i mean who can say really
@witchfynder_finder bonk as a gonk is when you have goblin brain
@witchfynder_finder don’t call ’em a jizz cat call ’em a jizz whistler you don’t have to make it an exact parallel
@witchfynder_finder and if you’re not going to take the time to do that then just make up meaningless crap like “bonk as a gonk” nobody cares
@witchfynder_finder idk this is actually something i put a great deal of thought into when i’m writing but i think it’s just a matter of making something seem like its own culture and not some grotesque copypasta of contemporary white english usage; if you’re going to use idioms they should be as rich and culturally‐informed as the rest of the work and not some simple word‐substitution or clever reference
@witchfynder_finder the problem is that they always pick idioms that are like, rich with meaning or reference some specific story which doesn’t even translate to the new context instead of picking idioms like
the bees knees
every self‐respecting fantasy universe has bees and they all have knees; go wild
@witchfynder_finder clearly this moment stuck with you
