@djm62 i think the history of the fediverse resembles evolution much more closely than intelligent design, honestly
the longstanding issue with Black users of fedi is that, while their treatment is morally offensive to intelligent people, it does not exert enough environmental pressure to force a change in an unintelligent system. the vast majority of the major changes in mastodon have been in response to environmental pressure. it is much harder to initiate a change on purely moral grounds

@aescling @coriander if there is a frustration in the act of making the movie it is in the fact that they aren’t able to do cool action sequences like they used to
@aescling @coriander the entire first half of the movie is a lesbian repeatedly saying “Neo’s saga changed my life and that is why i want to bring him back even though everybody thinks he is dead” and Neo saying “i can’t because capitalism told me it is just a video game and not real” and the lesbian saying “fuck that mind prison”
@aescling @coriander the final punchline of the movie is the protagonists looking the figure of capitalism in the face and saying thank you for giving us another chance to remake the world
@aescling @coriander i mean that is frustration but not with the act of creating the movie
@aescling @coriander i disagree that the movie is frustrated; i think the message of the film is that Neo went back into the Matrix for love, and it was the goal of capitalism to keep him close but just far enough from love to keep him working but not in a revolutionary manner
