@wallhackio right, snow. Superior, huroN, Ontario, Wrie. you don't need the mnemonic to include michigan for ovbvious reasons.
@wallhackio obviously in michigan you don't need a mnemonic because you just look out the window
@Lady in the course of the "thing" question i noticed that i don't seem to have /ɪŋ/ anywhere. /i:n/ and /ɪn/ both appear (e.g. "bean" vs. "bin"), but it seems as if with the velar it must be /i:ŋ/. curious if that is also true for you or if you have any possible counterexamples i should check
@Lady yeah that’s how i’d probably transcribe it tho phonetically-speaking i’m not sure i’m actually diphthonging it in that environment.
@Lady interesting. for me they have a mid-vowel (perhaps even a open-mid not in a diphthong), rhyming with e.g. "bang" and "bank" (which separately i am startled that people seem to transcribe the vowel in those words with /æ/)
quiz shows
i would think that a quiz show would be one of the less momentum-based competitions
@wallhackio that classic theological issue, the problem of sun
@aescling how do you like that site in general?
@aescling fun
poképosting
if a pokemon somehow simultaneously had every type, it would be:
ttrpgposting
whoops tonight the players took on two independently very difficult encounters that as written in this adventure path you shouldn't have to fight both of at all (they voluntarily chose to attack the other boss who was explicitly not joining the fight after engaging the others)
three of them are KOed in the company of someone who likes to eat people and the other fled. there might need to be three new PCs?
@xsssm plus there's like that whole range from like "a little steam is coming off" thru "extremely boiling" and it's a pain to tell where in that range it is and also where in that range you need to get to for whatever yr doing.
@xsssm boiling water is the worst.
