@rowyn i didn’t realize the house could turn itself into multiple buildings? for some reason this is the point where i am now having questions about how sentient houses work 😂

@Lucy @wallhackio historically they looked much more like eggs we’ve just fucked them up w/selective breeding

@rowyn i suppose both the weird and the magical are currently unconfirmed, though the house rearranging itself part definitely counts as both

re: nonsense

@pho4cexa the pumpkins get VERY large and weird looking

nonsense

@pho4cexa isn’t this just what the people who feed pumpkins milk for giant pumpkin contests do

@pomological noticing how much more edible the red delicious apples in this painting look than their modern cousins i ended up reading up a bit on the history of the variety. somewhat unusually for apples it seems that the trade name red delicious has been used for over 300 cultivars!

so now i am curious as to 1) whether the original “hawkeye” delicious (described as “a round, blushed yellow fruit of surpassing sweetness”) still exists at all and 2) which of the many varieties of delicious branded apple varieties this is — it is perhaps too red to be the original?

@gnomon what is your spaghetti squash sales pitch? i have yet to see it prepared in a way i enjoy but i would be willing to believe this is just execution error

@Lady @wallhackio i agree but also sometimes it is better to just go for the site you can start using immediately first and then upgrade later

@nivex i am perfectly happy to just keep taking public transit so i don’t really have a horse in this race, but the vibe i get from my friends who are owners of older cars is that it can be quite an expensive business as it currently stands. as far as subsidizing cars go, the aftermarket parts sector is one of the things i would be less opposed to see community money go towards i suppose though

@nivex i suspect the answer to this is “no” less because of the actual number of cars in existence and more because of the amount of “change the shape of the pump slightly every three years so everyone has to buy *this* pump which we will stop selling in 5 years” shenanigans which have gone on

@wallhackio this seems like a bad plan on multiple levels

@Lady i have seen the word cummed written earnestly but i just cannot respect it

comingle thoughts

@twistylittlepassages @titania @picklish they make a very big deal about how the point is to smooth out income spikes and dips by doing deductions/credits on a weekly basis so presumably that’s why they went for bank info (which is near enough to real time) instead of tax. but i don’t know that that’s enough justification to be handing over such a huge amount of data to a private, for profit company.

also very funny that their faq has a section like “do i have to fill out lots of forms to prove i need money” and they’re like “no! we will literally always be tracking you so we will already know” as if that’s somehow better

@gaditb @bea yeah no narcolepsy afaik — i was getting evaluated as part of a CFS diagnoses (which can’t be diagnosed through a sleep study, but also they wont diagnose you until you’ve ruled out every other possible explanation for fatigue so)

@bea @gaditb i had a sleep study done and they said my sleep is fine but i am not sure i trust that result seeing as it took me so long to fall asleep that i got less than three hours total
