anybody know how many trans women have type 1 narcolepsy? i would really like to know this

@bea I'm pretty sure my wakeful weak-collapsing-for-short-periods and freezing-up-and-hallucinating stuff is/was just from extended rather-bad sleep habits, and not chronic when I'm getting enough sleep.

@gaditb really raising some questions about your sleep habits here lol

@bea THEY'RE MUCH BETTER NOW.

I haven't combined an hour and a half of "collapsed on the couch in my clothes with the light on" with another hour and a half of bed-sleep so I can count three hours total, more than once or twice in the past YEAR or so.

@gaditb right... that's uh, good? do you sleep well when you do sleep?

@bea Yeah, rarely issues there, as long as the temperature isn't sweltering. (Except when I'm wearing socks. I dunno either.)

@gaditb

good, good. that's good.

i'm putting down the gun loaded with further narcolepsy related questions

@bea (I mean, I've never actually had a sleep study done.)

@gaditb oh they're fun (awful), you really should (actually)

@bea @gaditb i had a sleep study done and they said my sleep is fine but i am not sure i trust that result seeing as it took me so long to fall asleep that i got less than three hours total

@Satsuma @gaditb it is better if you can get more, but they can tell quite a bit from a couple hours

guessing you're not narcoleptic then

Follow

@gaditb @bea yeah no narcolepsy afaik — i was getting evaluated as part of a CFS diagnoses (which can’t be diagnosed through a sleep study, but also they wont diagnose you until you’ve ruled out every other possible explanation for fatigue so)
