@Lady babe the post is like 85% rec communities which have never been intended to be digital repositories
@Lady hence the no Ao3 or commercial sites bit, so far the rest of my neighbors have been fine or i don’t even know who they are
i’m not saying people shouldn’t think about where they put their stuff, but right now i dont think anyone even knows what the options are so i’d rather have a full list first and then filter

@pagrus thank you for CWing this simulated death, the first time someone posted a story about this the link preview cut off the headline after killed and before simulation and i thought for second some poor kid had actually died
also if anyone has suggestions for an organizational tagname for these kinds of links i’d love to start using one to share any independent archives / rec communities / etc i stumble across
(something positive, rather than just #NotAo3 — even if past precedent tells me we will all have to spend all our time talking about why we’re not including Ao3 regardless lol)

@pixelcats @asya yes so its a bit of a hot topic in fandom now as a result of both that announcement & that interview w/OTW’s legal chair — i think a lot of people had assumed they were anti-AI and were unpleasantly surprised to find otherwise
@pixelcats @asya i haven’t seen any explicitly allowing AI but since Ao3 took a pretty firm stance that they consider AI art to be fanworks ( https://www.transformativeworks.org/ai-and-data-scraping-on-the-archive/ ) I wouldn’t be surprised if a lot of people take that as the default position for exchanges without rules on the matter
