Awkward COVID conversations
@kiesa yeah thats a lesson i keep learning — it’s easy to estimate risk assuming that you’re controlling all the variables but then there are always unanticipated events
@platypus i hope they’re able to treat him 💛
@Lady @aescling personally I think it would be funny if #Ao3TagOfTheDay trended every time I used it
@aescling he’s really very good

«Well we guard our world with locks and guns
And we guard our fine possessions
And once a year when Christmas comes
We give to our relations
And perhaps we give a little to the poor
If the generosity should seize us
But if any one of us should interfere
In the business of why there are poor
They get the same as the rebel Jesus»
@Lady I feel like this photo confuses more than it clarifies
@Lady this is the most alarming photo of a kings cake i’ve seen in a long while
covid, us politics
@greyor ah yeah unfortunately i was in classes >50 students (mandatory masking & vaccination, but still) so I always tried to go to an asymptomatic testing site if I couldn’t quarantine before traveling.
I hope your wife feels better soon!
covid, us politics
@greyor I haven’t done the at home ones yet, but I’ve been to free PCR clinics a few times since the pandemic started & I’ve always been glad I went
covid, us politics
@greyor they’ve been available for free from local libraries in my state for a while (since july or august) but they’ve had trouble keeping up with the demand — they would get shipments in 1-2x/wk and run out within the day when I was checking for them
I’m glad the biden administration is finally stepping up to deliver free tests, hopefully it’ll make them a little more accessible
@Cyborgneticz @Dayglochainsaw the bizarre lack of agency ascribed to the hypothetical kid in that article is….,
