@Cyborgneticz cotton & linen are for summers! They’re comfy & breathable but they don’t insulate well

@Cyborgneticz wool can be pricey but it’s sooooo good. I have a bunch of super nice wool scarves & I just wear one p much every day

@Cyborgneticz yep my mom is a poncho devotee! Also good to upgrade your sweaters from cotton to wool/alpaca — both fibers are a lot warmer than cotton so a good sweater can really help

@Lady 1) amazing
2) this is definitely not what mormon friend believed — we had an extensive conversation and they were very clear that they were absolutely sure Mary, specifically, had fucked God (it came up because she’d made a joke about Mary being a monsterfucker and we were all like ??!?)

@Cyborgneticz yeah the house I grew up in is a rough house but it’s just got like, traditional turn of the century victorian levels of no insulation. The one person I know with a 1900’s era freestanding house just spends the whole winter buried in blankets pretty much

@Cyborgneticz lol around here everyone says row houses are warmer because you don’t loose any heat through the walls you share with your neighbors 😆

But yeah they aren’t always built for good air circulation so some rooms will definitely end up much warmer/colder than others which can be unpleasant

@hafnia@weirder.earth @Cyborgneticz @Dayglochainsaw i generally have to run a humidifier in winter because the air gets so dry. I know Baltimore tends to be a bit warmer & wetter than here but I’d be surprised if it was enough to require dehumidifying!

Definitely seconding the duvet suggestion — they’re so much warmer & cozier than a stack of blankets

@eldang i get a ‘log in to continue’ unfortunately

@Lady ah no i know that, I meant the virginity in the context of banging

@Lady well she’s mormon and I’m not actually uh, completely sure they do the whole virgin mary thing anyway so

@twistylittlepassages @ljwrites @cadadr@weirder.earth my opinions on it were mixed, but it’s better than the average marvel movie is these days so

@Lady i know at least one person who’s genuine theological belief is that god and mary fucked to produce Jesus, so presumably it follows that he at least occasionally has the equipment for that

@twistylittlepassages @ljwrites yeah it’s not great! I actually had to re-read that chart a couple times before I could interpret it — I’ve never seen Black/African American get lumped into “other” before

@ljwrites yeah that was my interpretation, tho I’m sure there are others haha

@hafnia@weirder.earth @pagrus the reporter appears to live in CA so it’s probably less anti-Cali than one might expect? They’re also pulling data from all over the place so who knows whats in there

@ljwrites its even funnier within the narrative of the music video — he’s just minding his own business, finds a religious article and then bam, crop circle of white men in suits

I mean I guess it’s technically less terrifying than biblical depictions of angels? But still firmly ‘be not afraid’ territory imo 😆
