@Cyborgneticz lol around here everyone says row houses are warmer because you don’t loose any heat through the walls you share with your neighbors 😆
But yeah they aren’t always built for good air circulation so some rooms will definitely end up much warmer/colder than others which can be unpleasant
@Satsuma so I was chatting with a local - these row houses in this neighborhood were built for factory workers and they have zero insulation.
@Cyborgneticz oh wow thats rough!
@Satsuma when they mentioned the fact there's no insulation, it all made sense
@Cyborgneticz yeah the house I grew up in is a rough house but it’s just got like, traditional turn of the century victorian levels of no insulation. The one person I know with a 1900’s era freestanding house just spends the whole winter buried in blankets pretty much
@Cyborgneticz yep my mom is a poncho devotee! Also good to upgrade your sweaters from cotton to wool/alpaca — both fibers are a lot warmer than cotton so a good sweater can really help
@Cyborgneticz wool can be pricey but it’s sooooo good. I have a bunch of super nice wool scarves & I just wear one p much every day
@Satsuma I need some more wool. Everything I have is mostly cotton
@Cyborgneticz @Satsuma also Under Armour is in Baltimore and they have some great athleisure stuff which can handle this
@Cyborgneticz cotton & linen are for summers! They’re comfy & breathable but they don’t insulate well
@Satsuma gonna need to invest in wool, my poncho is wool and it's glorious
