Be Like a Crow is new solo journaling game that might conceivably be of interest to some people on here:

koreapol death +, petty, all caps

@ljwrites korea has its priorities straight 😆

@Lady I almost reported a post for 'blatantly leading question in poll' the other day

@platypus the scale of this issue, in terms of both time unfixed & number of users effected is just so mind boggling to me

So y'know how Excel can really fuck up your data?

I'm watching this presentation about the same thing but for ... Xerox. And I'm like 😱

@alis @alpine_thistle those are so fancy! The ones we have are more like Amanda's -- tho they do still get a lot of use in the summer

@aescling like 2 min after this he was v insistently shoving his cheek into my hand for scritches & then making a teeny purr (he is bad at purring so this is a significant level of emoting for him haha)

@Lady except in order to put some of that infrastructure back we *will* have to destroy car based infrastructure in cities. There is no room for bike lanes without taking away car lanes & parking lots must give way to train stations. I am not advocating for the destruction of all car based infrastructure but I am actively advocating for the destruction of large swaths of the local system

@Lady @eldang @GwenfarsGarden further, i dont think the timing there is coincidental — our trolleys and trains were gutted simultaneous to the white flight to the suburbs — both direct results of racists being uncomfortable with integration. The local prioritization of a car system over public transit continues to perpetuate race and class based inequality and urgently needs to be remedied.

The ecological effects are of course also devastating

@Lady @eldang @GwenfarsGarden Car infrastructure is unequivocally a net negative in most of the places I’ve lived (all but one of which are urban) & the intentional destruction of billions of dollars of public transit infrastructure (in the 60’s & 70’s) to make room for cars has had a serious impact on my quality of life as a person who cannot drive due to disability

@Lady @eldang @GwenfarsGarden i think the general assumption is that the cost benefit analysis for rural areas re: cars is substantially different from urban and therefore require a different set of tactics.

re: fandom meta

@Lady so basically my support for the proposal is contingent on Ao3 making an actual commitment to step up when it comes to things like moderating bookmarks & just wanting to reduce that moderation load to more manageable levels

re: fandom meta

@Lady yeah which is basically my main concern with this proposed solution — it doesn’t actually successfully eliminate the need for moderation bc any site with user generated content inherently requires moderation. And the primarily issue at stake is that Ao3 has consistently failed to moderate its userbase

re: fandom meta

@Lady the issue is you can add your own notes / tags on bookmarks & people have used this as an avenue for harassment in the past. So if harassment is one of the issues you’re trying to solve they do need to be discussed
