@transfemwulian Jin Yong (sometimes considered the OG of modern wuxia) definitely loved to throw a guy off a cliff and then reveal he wasn’t dead later. would not be surprised to hear this trope goes all the way back to water margin
@apprendere lmk if you want recs for communities!
Food, questionable storage choices.
@SocialGaff it’s not ideal but the objections are largely more aesthetic than actual food safety
Link and brief description: eye socket fucking fic
@transfemwulian yay!! i love that personal fandom websites are becoming a thing again, they’re so much fun 💛
@stelepami huh interesting!
@stelepami you would think you’d want it to sound more like the catcher than the coach but i’m not sure there’s a vocal component at all? could just be four tone patterns
tampa camera crew makes some truly inspired choices
@quasihaiku quasihaiku getting into furry porn
@djsundog agreed
the one in which a white lady explains that she “can’t show her face” bc liberals will yell at her for showing being white is very funny though
@mythologybot are other colors of ants *not* a pest?
@bright_helpings i left the room for like 2 min to make tea and when i came back they were up six instead of two. can’t look away for a minute 😅
@Lady @love @moonsea but yeah the primary issue with “my fandom is a thing you do” hypotheses is that i would define which things you do count as fandom as those codified as fannish by the fandom community
which is very recursive. but also that is how communities often work—soccer fans sing the songs soccer fans sing at games because soccer fans sing them at games
@moonsea @Lady @love i am reminded of that DIY card catalogue that someone posted about a few weeks back in which a star trek TOS fan made entires for every episode which made heavy use of TV guide and newspaper clippings (it was made back when the show was first airing and is now in a university archive as a example of early fannish activities)
@bea on reflection i’m not surprised this exists but i am somewhat surprised it sold well enough to show up on the used book market
@rowyn i suspect victory will get to stop panicking about having lost valor quite soon!
re: sportsball
@wallhackio @Lady ok even leaving aside the number of ads they had specifically for this game during baseball yesterday AND the fact that we texted you about it on friday, you do know that brady is a fox sports announcer right?
