@wallhackio @vaporeon_ the joke is that Ulysseses is considered somewhat impenetrable even by literature nerds who read difficult books for fun/professionally

@titania only posting locked seems to save me from these issues haha

@titania when were you ever on the hook for that? 😂

@cam @Breakfast they regularly accidentally cross the Atlantic ocean whilst migrating so unfortunately it was probably inevitable

@2424 hey welcome! what kind of anime do you watch?

@wanderingmeomeo i like your composition! you’ve got a nice spacing of objects to draw the eye around the image without distracting from the main subject

if you’re trying to improve readability though i might suggest working on increasing the range of your mid tones — i always struggled with my mid tones all being too mid-y when i was working with charcoal / graphite and it can definitely make things muddle together / fade into the background more than they should

@wallhackio @The_T @vaporeon_ @onfy i do the orange juice on the inside the slicing caramel thing just seems like a lot of work, but if you have the energy go for it

@The_T @wallhackio @onfy @vaporeon_ how do you feel about ricotta? i have a pretty good ricotta cake recipe

@ehyde yeah i think if you *do* have lots of outlets having shorter cords is more convenient (less voltage drop from resistance on the cord, less loose cord tangling/getting in the way to deal with) but its an assumption that is definitely super frustrating in any situation where it doesn’t hold true

Historical Gender Politics

@MorningSong for sure! at best it was “women weren’t supposed to work if they could afford not to” and even then that is still something we came up with like, maybe 250 years ago after a long history of women working being very normal in all of society

Historical Gender Politics

@MorningSong yeah similarly “back when women couldn’t work / only worked in the home” is a very brief and culturally specific period and its only mythmaking about gender during/after that period that has convinced us it was natural and universal

@ehyde the US building code you should have an outlet on any section of counter that is at least 12 inches wide, and an outlet at least every 48 inches on longer stretches so that’s one answer to the question of how many people are expected to have?

kidposting lol

@ljwrites i mean, its the one thing you can just about count on applying to everyone you meet!

@wallhackio generally a day trip if you are willing to have at least one direction be at an awkward time is usually p affordable from here, i did it a lot when i was younger

@wallhackio i mean double check that you can get reasonable prices both directions and also at times that make sense, sometimes amtrak prices to nyc do get $$$ but
