@wallhackio @K4_713 i don’t know about *all* cats but my childhood cat definitely spoke with the cat equivalent of the queens english

my parents current cat does not strike me as quite so well educated tho he does have a great deal of social intelligence

@monorail yeah its good to be nice to ourselves/other people about the fact that we can’t know everything, even things which are “obvious” or “everyone knows”

bc I’m a nerd, I tend to use the “todays lucky 10,000” format (from: xkcd.com/1053/ )

@david technically speaking you only need to be recognized by the catholic church as a baptized adult man and all other requirements are mere custom. However if you go that route you’ll need to get all the cardinals to be willing to vote for you before the conclave starts. If you can attain the rank of cardinal (and are under age 80) its a lot easier however bc you can just attend the conclave itself and convince the cardinals you’re the best choice directly

@weirdestate honestly this one feels like a little set dressing would go a long way—more neutral colored curtains and pillows would go a long way towards making the room be charmingly quirky instead of overwhelming

@akjcv yay! i have not been making as many of my groups games as i’d like recently (its fine the campaign is designed for not everyone playing every session) but i will live vicariously thru you

@hatsune_kun also incidentally worth noting that the fujo in fujoshi literally means “girl” in Japanese so if you are restrictive enough in your definition of fujos then tautologically all fujim are women

@hatsune_kun in practice i think the “male dominated” early internet had actually had many women taking advantage of its anonymity to stealth (as well as others who were out as such) while transformative fandom has definitely never been even close to an exclusively female space so I’m hesitant to make strong assertions about the actual makeup of those groups, but in terms of their respective cultural norms bl & transformative works have definitely produced many culturally feminine spaces

@hatsune_kun the impression i get is that this stereotype developed when sff Fandom & the wider internet were VERY male dominant cultural spaces and so bl/transformative fandom being even like an even gender split would have been seen as “unusually feminine”

and then, like many gendered hobbies it kinda turned into a self fulfilling prophecy where men, esp cishet men were leery of doing something that was “for girls” so the space continued to skew towards women & queer folk who were comfortable w/that reputation

@monorail i think generally speaking they prefer he follow precedent and die on good friday but if you’ve gotta die on easter its good he finished easter mass before kicking it

@wallhackio @aescling @Lady M says you’re not talking about the 90’s mario movie so clearly i am behind the times

@Lady running out of bread flour would not stop the baking either

@Lady we fortunately we are competent bakers who can revise it into a respected family recipe should be so choose

@Lady brown sugar is granulated sugar technically (tho now we are running out of that so will have to get even more creative)

@maloki avian flu is also hitting duck and geese populations pretty hard by my understanding so unless you’re willing to switch to roe….

@monorail yeah if you’re taking stimulants better to take them before you need to do all the stuff rather than after

@monorail this is why i take all my pills in the evening, its historically been the one time i can be pretty sure i’ll be awake when my reminder goes off 😅

@The_T @vaporeon_ @onfy @monorail a lot of cats will eat when they’re bored also, which i think is often the issue with housecats who didn’t have any food insecurity
