@TheBookewyrme welcome! there’s a nice group of people who read MXTX’s novels here so i am sure you’ll fit right in!

@Lady @wallhackio its the enemies to lovers one (and should also have Chinese dialogue yes)

@wallhackio @Lady m has to manually adjust the timing of the subs every episode

@Lady @aescling @wallhackio the mc only plays glory, eats hotchip and lie he doesnt have time for romance

@Lady @wallhackio @aescling anyway buying a house is tiring and stressful so its a soup type event in that it requires soup to cope, but is itself distinctly unlike soup

@wallhackio @Lady @aescling it only has 1728 chapters if you want to give it a shot

@Betty @soph_sol i did do several notable philanthropies which arguably puts him ahead of some modern rich assholes. But also oh wow what an infuriating daily routine to juxtapose with refusing to give your staff even a single day off.

@Betty @soph_sol a good amount of searching has so far turned up zero photos of celebrities but i did find a newspaper clipping i’d photographed which described John D Rockefeller being a shitheel

…it *would* be cathartic to yell at him about the ills of modern society but not in a like, healthy therapeutic relationship way

@Betty oh wow WHAT a take

she’s gonna be so mad when she finds out the carnival of aces takes place *every* month lmao

a bit of historical context by way of attempting an answer, long

@calcifer i guess i would also add that another question we should ask is “if i’m going to a protest, how can i maximize the efficacy of that action?”

one thing i have been trying to do on that front is make a point of “networking” with as many groups/orgs as possible who are at a given protest so that i can support other forms of organizing they are engaging in. i feel like this has some potential in terms of realizing the historic power of a protest, if with a somewhat different order (protests as advertising/recruitment for an issue not flexing the power of an already organized base)
