tags i have recently realized have no A·O·3 canonical form:

• Summer Heat
• Thin Walls
• Hot Girls

now suppose you also want to tag gender and form; better add to that

freeform:
• cis boy joey
• cis boy pokéfan
• ratatta ♂

now you’re at 10 tags just for 1 relationship between 2 characters

for example it’s 7 tags just to minimally cover “joey & joey’s ratatta” if you are writing an AU where joey is a pokéfan not a youngster

relationship:
• joey & joey’s ratatta
• pokéfan & ratatta
character:
• joey
• joey’s ratatta
• pokéfan
• ratatta
freefrom:
• pokéfan joey

you can imagine the combinatorics

there’s a lot of duplication because first i give all of the characters then i give all of the trainer classes and then i associate all of the trainer classes with the corresponding characters because that has to be three tags in A·o·3 because characters and trainer classes are both Character tags but linking the two requires a Freeform tag

i’m currently at 54 tags and none of them are whispertags

i do not envy any person who attempts to wrangle the tags on this fic but i hope they do

basically all the pokémon tags are like “Fuck It Use Freeform Tags To Disambiguate Everything, You Will Have To”

like May (Player Character) is the daughter of Gym Leader Norman whereas May (NPC) is the daughter of Professor Birch
