i do not care about shield surfing i care about breaking this bourgeois lady’s fancy dinnerware

which ability would you rather have in a zelda game?

• can jump up and down in place instead of just jumping off ledges or directionally when targeting

• can roll into trees and walls to knock stuff off

@coriander “you have to climb to get the apples because we couldn't figure out a roll button”

@coriander i feel like they could keep a lot of the stuff in BotW and still make a good zelda game too, like

want to replace the piece of heart puzzles with shrines? that's fine

want to keep the cooking and inventory management stuff? ok

want to have lots of exploration and hidden areas? that's cool

but bring back actual items and actual dungeons where you get them, bring back the two-act structure, write a good plot with good characterizations, and stop making everything solvable with a handful of magic abilities you get at the beginning of the game

just imo

@coriander nintendo only remade skyward sword and not twilight princess for switch because if they remade twilight princess people would realize that the new zelda games are bad

@coriander i’ve been replaying Twilight Princess lately and let me tell you it really highlights all the places where BotW dropped the ball

life is built on death

actually the fact that you can dissolve lots of shit in water is kind of horrifying

zelda spoilers

also if you are up on the lore the Zonai associate dragons with courage which just lends credence to my belief that the Zelda in botw/totk resonates more strongly with that piece of the triforce

zelda spoilers(?)

honestly it's about time zelda got a fursona link has several

i thought she was giving off dysphoric vibes in botw because she wanted to be a boy but i suppose actually what she wanted was to be a dragon

thinking about those lesbians who communicated when organizing their media distribution platform on opposite sides of the country by mailing cassette tapes to each other

like c’mon y’all, this is way easier now, why don’t we have more non-location-based solidarity

curious about tech networking spaces which :—

• are on the internet

• are politically conscious and active

• are more-or-less run by their members

• do not exist at the whim of some external organization

• are not limited to a single programming style or culture (incl. programming language)

do these exist? why haven't i heard about them?

a bad testimonial for a bad app which doesn't exist anymore

thinking again about this man

re: zelda

@monorail i support your blogging regardless :)

zelda

you should write a blogpost

i listened to punk music and

complained to my partner for eons about the lack of punk developers

@coriander radically embracing roleplaying and letting the player do whatever the fuck they want with no single solution is inherently in conflict with the style of game design which made things like Twilight Princess and Metroid Prime good
