i have the slowpoke song stuck in my head
everybody knows David Brooks is a hack but as a newspaper you have a reputation to maintain
and i just feel like any good editor would have pulled him aside and been like, dude. say the first thing not the second
he could have just said “the idea of a race war is a white-supremacist fiction and we have to understand the language of activists in context” but INSTEAD what he said was “some activists are good and embrace multiculturalism but some activists are bad and speak with an us-versus-them mentality and that’s why racism still exists”
do you think anyone at the NYTimes actually reads David Brooks op-eds or do you think they just publish them
