*walks up to a girl with a ♥️ necklace; points at her chest* “so what’s that? some kind of inverted spade?”

“yeah, because i like having girls plow into me”

@witchfynder_finder strong advocate of changing your professional surname to a contemporarily accurate epithet like "goblin", "cat", or "glaceon" it's way better than a historical one like "smith" or "taylor"

@witchfynder_finder because if i had coworkers calling me kibi and it wasn't one of the Options it would be like 10x worse

@witchfynder_finder i have some coworkers who know me as kibi and then the other ones are like "oh NO, should i be calling you kibi too?!!" and i am like i literally do not give a fuck if you call me kibi or not

relatedly this is why i went and made kibi instead of my legal surname my professional last name

@witchfynder_finder i have enough difficulty telling my coworkers that they can refer to me by my first OR last name

@witchfynder_finder you could probably edit the prequels into two good movies

@witchfynder_finder i know, which is why they called A New Hope Episode IV

i just think star wars would have been more interesting if they had stuck to the bit and never released a first movie

i don't have a problem with the prequels but i do take issue with one of them being called Episode I when obviously a lot of stuff happened before

« On a visit to ILM in Van Nuys, Rice was instructed by Lucas to produce a logo that would intimidate the viewer, and he reportedly asked for the logo to appear "very fascist" in style. Rice's response to her brief was to use an outlined, modified Helvetica Black. » 😘

@witchfynder_finder agreed, earth is also a part of nature and a pretty important one, too me

@witchfynder_finder the stance against resource extraction etc on other planets makes more sense when you think of it as “every action a capitalist takes on a foreign planet that a communist wouldn't is a loss of a part of nature that we will never get back”

of course this needs to be weighed against other needs, but the most expedient solution is simply to end capitalism before these questions become relevant

@witchfynder_finder i think what people primarily fear is not man reaching other planets, but capitalism

@witchfynder_finder marx says that when man is alienated from its labour and consequently from itself, as under capitalism, it ceases to view itself as part of nature and rather nature becomes a means to an end for man

resolving the alienation of labour from man also resolves the alienation of man from man, resolving the alienation of man from nature

in such a world, man and nature need not be viewed as competing forces but rather as working in harmony. expanding the reach of man is merely expanding the harmonization of man with the natural world
