@aescling eugen does not show much attention to detail to string processing edgecases (or non-egdecases) and just does whatever is simplest until somebody reports a bug
@aescling oh this sort of bug is extremely common in mastodon
@aescling actually what i should say is it looks like it is doing a simple str.split("@") when it should be doing a regex
@aescling looks like a bad regex; bet you could probably fix this one

@witchfynder_finder i probably DNF’d that other stuff for the express reason of having green eggs and ham be my first book
there definitely wasn't any ceremony i just did it on my own in the library so i was obviously like, a fairly competent reader at that point
@witchfynder_finder i remember the first book i read by myself was green eggs and ham but my parents tell me i was reading plenty of like, early reader material before that so evidently i just decided that those didn't count
@witchfynder_finder it is an actual plural form, although clitorises is more common these days probably
sidon has two dicks but does mipha have two clitorides
@packetcat back in my day, the web was full of pages, and idle surfing was an actual way people would pass the time…… instead of doomscrolling social media
@packetcat i miss stumbleupon and think mastodon is lacking good ways of discovering interesting web pages appreciated by people in your community but i think trends are a really half-baked way of bringing that about
most significantly because they can't disambiguate “i’m sharing this because i like it” and “i’m sharing this because i hate it”
@packetcat i use the advanced now but used simple for a long time and didn't mind it at all
right now i have all of the people i follow organized into lists and don't even have the home timeline visible, which i think is the best way to use advanced layout
