@Stoori it probably doesn't affect your device (unless you host a java server on your home computer) but it probably DOES affect nearly every website you have an account with. (well, it might affect certain “smart” devices, but i don’t have good guidance there.)

this is a big deal because it has existed for a long time, is widely distributed (apple, instagram, twitter, most storefronts…), and may be difficult to track down. if a service is compromised, that could mean your personal information has been exposed, so just stay vigilant.

@imani post never gets sent to C’s instance; posts only get pushed to instances which have recipients (give or take; replies to public posts might get forwarded along to OP’s followers as well)

usually “recipients” includes “all my followers” but that isn't the case with DMs

sure am glad critical linked data infrastructure isn’t java-based that would be a nightmare

it's a good thing java isn't like, a popular development platform, running on billions of devices, or anything

@noelle « By a legal fiction, the Romans treated both the first "sixth day" and the additional "sixth day" before the Kalends of March as one day. Thus a child born on either of those days in a leap year would have its first birthday on the following sixth day before the Kalends of March. When, many years later, modern consecutive day counts were laid alongside the Roman dates the sixth day before the Kalends of March fell on 24 February. However, in a leap year the sixth day fell on 25 February because the additional sixth day came before the 'normal' sixth day. » :blobmeow_spiral:

@kiesa possibly an intentional app problem if the keyboard shortcuts were chosen for their location on a QWERTY keyboard (cut, copy, paste being X, C, V is the typical example; that doesn't make sense in Dvorak)
