is a very English way of saying things

lots of people say lisp and japanese are sibling languages but i think the same is true of english and javascript

@aescling you say it is a joke but i have seen you legitimately get excited over my web designs so

time to close GitLab on my work laptop and open GitLab on my personal laptop

@aescling i mean it's better than what it was recommending me before so i'm not really complaining

lol i contribute to ONE repository and suddenly GitHub is recommending me things like “Science History Institute Digital Collections”

@monorail i don't think people have negative intent but i think a lot of people have neutral intent and a lot of negative systems are enabled by it

simply not being bad is only good enough in a world which is good by default, which isn't our world

@noelle they probably did it as a joke and extremely regret that decision now

@KitRedgrave @witchfynder_finder something something “the goal, however, is to change it”

@Satsuma my personal stance is that we should just eliminate pronouns

@Satsuma (this is not a genuine proposal, more just me pointing out that this is how Proto-Indo-European happened)

@Satsuma yes, probably this would require reducing the number to maybe three or four

what if we just encoded gender as a grammatical property of nouns so we wouldn't have to keep giving our pronouns all the time

@witchfynder_finder only the bones. have you ever tried christmas shopping without a skeleton? i don't recommend it

relatedly, this is why skeletons are an important part of the christmas season

@witchfynder_finder to impose it on others would not be the anarchist way

@witchfynder_finder regular anarchists are too busy discussing praxis in their 6 hour meetings to have time for discussing praxis on line
