@coriander it's true, gen ii–iv was peak for this kind of thing

but legends arceus was pretty good at it also

@coriander like i have a whole rant i could probably go on about how pokémon is gothic fantasy but like

they live in a world with magic creatures and they do science with them in a mundane way but also never forget that they are magic, it’s great

@coriander honestly this is one of the top reasons i like pokémon

@coriander if i can't play my game while it is closed and sitting in my backpack then it's not a handheld it's just a portable computer

@coriander in gen v pokémon had a thing where it was expected you would walk around with your DS in your pocket and when you checked it at the end of the day you could see how everybody you walked past voted on a set of surveys and lmao at trying to do something like that with the switch

pokémon

the problem with playing for a very long time is you wind up with lots of cool mon you don’t need and no reason to trade them to anyone ever

games & work ethic

honestly the answer to “how are you so good at self‐directed projects” is probably “i play a lot of pokémon”

He's had numerous
warnings, which he's deleted
or paid no mind to

re: baking

@aescling anyway if you want to come visit we have “pumpkin” scones

baking

in fairness the recipe was just asking u to roll yr own pumpkin spice seasoning anyway

Show thread

baking

we had to buy pumpkin spice seasoning mix because the grocery store just doesn't sell cloves

relationship

bullied into baking on a saturday

@coriander the beatles were “good” primarily because they were popular enough to be allowed to do the weird artsy stuff in the studio that everybody else wished they could do

which is not their fault, but reinforces my indie belief that recorded music writ-large didn’t really get good until the invention of the cassette tape when people stopped needing to give labels the time of day

live music is a completely different matter ofc but who would ever go see the beatles live

@aescling @alyssa the closest living relatives of the pinnipeds (walruses, sea lions, etc) are the musteloids (weasels, raccoons, skunks, and red pandas)

@aescling @alyssa carnivora is bifurcated into feliforma and caniforma and walruses are caniforms

@coriander hey if you pick charmander it makes the first gym really hard

dreams

me asleep: oh no i haven't been going to my afterschool P·E extracurricular despite school being in session for like a month

me awake: bitch i have a job

You’ll go far, Cyclizar!

*sees the colours Red, Blue, Green & Yellow* oh just like in Pokémon
