« There’s like two hundred pumpkins per person, or something. Unevenly distributed of course. »

« We’re both first years, so we have that in common—”

“You’re a first year?”

What a thing to comment on, out of everything she had said. “Yes?”

The boy scratched at the back of his head again, and she realized it was probably a nervous habit. “I thought you were an upperclassman. You just seemed to know what you were talking about.”

“I…do know what I’m talking about. »

« The tale of the Wand of Gamelon was certainly…an acquired taste »

i feel like it doesn't have the strong vibes i would like it to have, it's pretty rough, and there’s at least one spot where i thought it might need a poem

re: twitter

@aescling that didn't take long

@coriander blue scholars have a line

“humility is not the ability to front / it's when you willingly work for what you want”

all labourers are definitionally humble and that is a reason for pride, not its antithesis

we do our own work and don't feel entitled to skim profits off of the value generated by others, and we should be proud as fuck of that fact

« the women of the Tucson Feminist Media Collective showed their constellation their summer heatwave by recording themselves frying an egg on the sidewalk, much to the chagrin of a local policeman. »

« International Videoletters was conceived by American, Canadian, and Australian feminist media workers at the New York conference as a solution to feminist communities' feelings of isolation. The feminist press reported factual details of protests and events, but it provided neither the immediacy nor the intimacy feminists craved. Film and video could provide audiences with a more sensory experience of other communities' activities, and, as conference participants with experience working in video production and public access television pointed out, video was quick, easy, and cheap, meaning it could do so with an immediacy that film could not. » it's only gotten quicker, easier, and cheaper (hint, hint)

@coriander really though the E is extremely important to the pronunciation lol

@coriander unfortunately the meaning of were-man has shifted but i think the pronoun thing could work

@noelle you might hold some non-neo liberal feminist positions but i generally don't have a beef with them :P

i'm just easily annoyed by the Sheryl Sandberg “Lean In” types who conflate some women's financial success as businesswomen with an actual ideal feminist future, ignoring all the poor women who will never have access to that future (poor women do not count to neoliberals because they are not sufficient consumers)

again, i am not at all concerned that you might hold these beliefs :P

@noelle when i say "neoliberal" i pretty much mean "equates market value with actual value" which i know for a fact you don't do
