when your example of a statement it is impossible to disagree with is “children should be polite” and not “people should have access to the resources they need for survival”

you can really just import a gitlab API call as json with deno in CI

« “Do you think I should become a Catholic?” Warriors broke the silence as he stared down their dozenth empty hallway. » what the fuck does this mean

@iliana it’s a trust thing, right? not being able to trust the instances you are federating with is the same sort of thing (and this is a criticism) which drives bluesky folks to the blockchain

if instances could acknowledge trust (and many mastodon instances do informally trust each other) then they could not only supply each other with things like OG tags but actually fill in missing information which might not be provided at the source

i FEEL LIKE “let my instance say it trusts icosahedron.website not to be evil” was a solution proposed the last time this conversation went around but obviously that hasn’t gone anywhere in the time since then

mastodon question

@foccs @emmajuettner exception: your followers also follow the person you are replying to

mastodon only shows replies in feeds if a person follows both the poster and the person they are immediately replying to

the assumption being that if they follow both people involved, they *are* already reading the conversation on account of the original post(s) being in their home timeline

in my experience anarchists who define their philosophy beginning with the word “I” would not take a bullet for a comrade happily

you ever want to go up to an internet anarchist and be like what the fuck are you even talking about

@aescling

document[Baron.symbol].register(
Lune.accountUpdate,
(account) => {
if (isCatIRI in account.metadata) {
account.isCat = !/^(?:no|false)?$/iu.test(account.metadata[isCatIRI]);
}
},
);

document[Baron.symbol][Lune.elements].account = IsMaybeCatAccountElement;

@aescling and it should be possible via a userscript! with very little effort!

@aescling like i fully want Lune to have support for transforming accounts via profile metadata in a modular way and that's a big reason why i've designed Baron the way i have

a simple module that listens for an account update event, checks its metadata, and assigns a property based on what it finds there is exactly the kind of thing i want to enable
