lesbians have been figuring aromanticism as inherently political for like half a century

re: Trans community meta

@astraluma i’ve had a similar take before where instead of “50% envy” it’s “frequently survivors of childhood and early‐adulthood abuse”; i think there’s a lot of “feelings” which impact trans community relations but which get seen as individual traits/issues instead

re: Trans community meta

@astraluma i’m not but i’m interested in hearing more

i’m in a fire emblem fan server and all the comments are things like “the pokémon fandom is terrible they were all clamouring for BDSP and now they’re all trashing it” and then i’m in a pokémon fan server and it’s just like 98% not even talking about the new games and the remaining 2% “BDSP looks cool i’m excited for it”

getting arbitrarily frustrated over people saying “the pokémon fandom” and not “pokémon fans”

sOMEtimes…… people have bad opinions

@noelle (this is partially because no live tree will last from Martinmas to Christmas and partially because i don’t want to celebrate TDoR under mistletoe)

@noelle my personal preference is Andermas to Twelfth Night but to each their own

“critical theory is teaching our kids that America is evil!!” friend, Nietzsche dispensed with the idea of evil over a century ago

@witchfynder_finder it doesn't have to be hardcore but if they can teach algebra they can teach why criminalizing pot is racist

there’s a whole world of content out there

i simply think that academics would get a lot more done if they could simply overcome the 1‐centimetre barrier of the browser address bar

this isn’t anti‐intellectual it’s just anti‐academy

Show thread

i was going to say “peer‐reviewed journal” but actually peer‐review is good so long as your peers aren’t academics

i probably won’t even mind on account of being a 🔳
