@witchfynder_finder well they know how to watch marvel movies
@witchfynder_finder in seriousness i think there is a way in which DUNE relies on you kind of being able to parse its structure and anticipate the ways in which the things it is doing now will be important later
like the scene at the beginning where Paul is talking with his dad about taking on the leadership of House Atreides, i saw that and i immediately knew that this was a story about his arc as a character and various tensions with him growing into that role, and so it was important and significant to me
but if you didn’t like, get that, then you might just be like “why are these people talking about random political bullshit i don’t care”
@witchfynder_finder there was this one scene where the film was like trying to explain stuff which is important for understanding the movie, and i thought it was boring so i didn’t pay any attention; anyway i don’t understand why everybody thought DUNE was so good

re: react code (the reason why)
if frame N has
<Die num="2">
<Die num="3">
and frame N+1 has
<Die num="2">
<Die num="3">
<Die num="3">
React doesn’t know whether to add the third Die before or after the second one, because they’re identical. adding a key just helps it figure out which Die is the new one and which one is the old.
an opinion for your consideration
@Satsuma on the internet oftentimes people perform cuteness by adopting a kawaii aesthetic, or a manner of being inspired by kawaii aesthetic, and if you search for such things as “cute girls” oftentimes what you find is a particular sort of cuteness exhibited in e.g. anime and manga
and i just think the english word is more expansive than that. it is not just
☆*:.。. o(≧▽≦)o .。.:*☆
but also like, when someone snorts when they laugh and it’s super gross and endearing. i don’t think this is necessary controversial but i do think that these other forms of cuteness have much smaller visibility in online spaces, to the extent that “cute X” and “specific conception of cuteness popular in japanese media aesthetic X” become almost synonyms, which makes a reminder of them perhaps necessary for risk of losing some of the broadly-encompassing nature of the word

@Satsuma yep
@witchfynder_finder what’s wild is that the arguments were never about inflicting ecological disaster
@noelle i define “criminal” as “very good”. like warm beds in the morning. super criminal; ought to be banned
i see it a fair bit and i never would think to do that, but it must be commonplace somewhere
