@witchfynder_finder if only i could be drinking swiss miss with my miss 😩
trying to figure out whether “save my work” or “turn off my laptop” is more anachronistic here
« Twelfth Night in the Netherlands became so secularised, rowdy and boisterous that public celebrations were banned from the church. » fuck yeah that’s a holiday right there
i’m actually completely fine with the holiday season i just don’t like the actual holiday
@witchfynder_finder also i’m normally okay with secularizing Church holidays but yeah christmas sucks ass it’s like easter, get out of town
just celebrate the solstice or whatever
@witchfynder_finder the problem is that businesses sell goods for the holiday which is coming up, not the holiday you’re currently in, and america determines what season it is based on what you can buy in the stores
@witchfynder_finder i mean it’s literally Hallowmas today; in the UK Hallowtide lasts at least until Remembrance Sunday (when they wear the Poppies; 14 Nov this year) and i don’t see why we shouldn’t just make it the whole month (until Advent at least)
@witchfynder_finder see, back in the day the festivals happened at the STARTS of the seasons not the ENDS
the way i say it should go is harvest up until halloween, and then all of NOVEMBER is spooky season
@witchfynder_finder okay but seriously the american harvest festival happens way too late
this is not a toot in favour of starting christmas before december 25
@noelle yeah same lol
@noelle but the general answer is “they don’t”, and they actually dropped it from their latest album promo material
@noelle i’m not the average CHVRCHΞS fan so i have greek letters on capslock
