« The Rails framework encourages RESTful design of your applications, which means you'll be making a lot of "PATCH", "PUT", and "DELETE" requests (besides "GET" and "POST"). However, most browsers don't support methods other than "GET" and "POST" when it comes to submitting forms. » then will you REALLY be making a lot of "PATCH", "PUT", and "DELETE" requests? :blobmeow_coolthinking:

Lady boosted

@monorail ofc this hardly matters because eugen is not going to be making a high wage for the world of tech regardless

@monorail in any case German law prohibits him from paying himself “extraordinarily high wages”, to the extent that donations to his patreon are considered payments to Mastodon gGmbH (which i think they are)

@monorail i don’t really know german law but now that mastodon Is A Nonprofit i feel like he might be required to publish more formally where the money is going, idk

@monorail he pays a lot of people according to the opencollective expenses page

opencollective.com/mastodon/ex

mostly for code review

cancelling Ruby/Rails for failing to fully support HTTP Status Code 418

GlitchCat is a good instance and its WebFinger doesn’t even spontaneously break anymore

@aescling i’m around i just don’t have much to say

hacking mastodon to display all counts using binary prefixes

oh i missed the benchmark but i have now posted a kibi toots

“federating” in only the loosest sense, as in we saw each other on the street one time

Show thread

i can’t really ask questions like “how on earth are we federating with X instance” seeing as the answer is probably “somebody boosted your toot to there”

@witchfynder_finder like staying up all night

haha!! i have a sleep disorder!

@witchfynder_finder @monorail computer people are like wizards who know magic spells but the magic spells are just correct phrasings of questions sent to more powerful wizards

@witchfynder_finder @monorail honestly this is a better understanding of computers than most people who work with computers

@monorail @witchfynder_finder yeah when i first learned this i was like hmmmm :blobmeow_coolthinking: but now that i have thought about it i am more like mmmm :blobmeow_wisethinking:
