@Satsuma "The compound demonized in cigarettes might be a powerful medicine for Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, and traumatic brain injuries. Nicotine, separate from smoking, activates nicotinic acetylcholine receptors throughout the brain. These receptors release neural stem cells from inhibition, allowing them to mature into new neurons. Nicotine also increases dopamine in Parkinson's patients, improves memory circuits, and calms agitation and traumatic brain injury and autism. Research shows smokers have reduced Alzheimer's risk especially in carriers of the ApoE4 gene. Low Dose Transdermal Nicotine patches improve cognitive function in aging nonsmokers. In neurologic damage, nicotine patches help with spinal cord patients bowel and bladder function and improve attention in brain injured patients. If you're dealing with a neurologic condition, discuss transdermal nicotine therapy with a knowledgeable physician. This controversial but evidence-backed approach might offer benefits when traditional medications fall short."
@vaporeon_ it's some pokemon, i don't know what it looks like
@Satsuma she texted me a facebook post where some bald man argues that nicotine is good for the mind
@vaporeon_ this is the future litleos want
@vaporeon_ this is the future liberals want
@vaporeon_ and there's chicken in there too because why not?
@vaporeon_ a weird potato onion leek egg drop soup i made last weekend to stop things from going bad in my fridge
@monorail i do say "trivial" and "such that" a nontrivial amount in everyday conversation
@vaporeon_ "cycle" is not a technical concept it is a word i made up to describe what i was looking for
@vaporeon_ what i'm trying to do is find the length of a "cycle" in the array. a cycle is the number of "jumps" you can do in the array if you jump forward by a set number of indices before you return to where you started, assuming that you start back at the beginning of the array once you exceed its length
@vaporeon_ when i looked at other solutions people usually used a greatest common denominator algorithm which is O(sqrt(n)) in this step, but the reasons for it are due to Math I Don't Understand
@vaporeon_ im trying to think of a silly acronym but i cannot think of one, gorp is too weird
@vaporeon_ they have a terminal where you can write code in an online IDE and immediately check the result against test cases so it actually makes sense in this context
