@aescling Ah man i loved this movie to pieces in high school. There is such a high level of craftsmanship in the filmmaking despite the story being mere entertainment which I appreciated dearly at the time. The script is razor-sharp, not a moment is wasted.

I have been curious to rewatch this one because there are many troubling elements in the film, things that would bother me a lot more now than they did at the time. Like Marty's dad being a peeping Tom who gets the girl at the end, or the joke that implies that Marty invented rock and roll, which is tasteless in light of the way rock and roll was appropriated in popular culture. I'm curious how I'd still feel about the movie despite these things
