i like when cats do a groom themselves
(to be fair, some of the details of their argument were things i hadn’t thought of. the overall argument is pretty obvious as an ell jee bee tee queue & more)
on some level i feel like Butler’s recent opinion piece in the guardian is pretty straightforward and telling me things i already know, but on the other hand, i wish journalistic writing was always at least that dense
no shade or anything with the subtoot, i just don't feel like this is worth creating a notification over lol
when first talking about this instance @/Lady asked us what “our hopes and dreams” were for it and we didn’t have a clear answer at the moment
my best guess at what would have been my answer at the time (and still is) is that: when we first saw https://runyourown.social, we were struck by the realization, there was a better way of doing things and we wanted to be part of it

anyway our amusement just comes from taking an extremely controversial term and then just going “i am going to use this extremely controversial term and use it as the name for something very different”, which i can’t imagine not deeply frustrating pedantic commies

the juxtaposition of trying to read the pen-Totah-teuch, a compilation of many different authors likely over many different times, often repeating the same ideas with some variation, all also in translation; and then reading a book originally written in english and originally composed as a whole
one of those is much easier to read lol
