matrix server admin psa, csa mention
if you run a matrix server, and it has any public rooms: don't
spammers on matrix.org have been crawling public rooms and are now sending links to telegram rooms distributing child pornography. any public matrix room is a liability. don't trust matrix.org to moderate their own users, its way too big for them to do that effectively.
make any public rooms private, if the room hasn't actively been moderated in a while consider taking it over and deleting it. (there is no easy way to do this. even if you are room admin, the only provided solution is to kick all the users except yourself and then leave. the reply to this post will contain a script that can help)
please DO NOT reply to this post with your opinions about matrix, it doesn't help anyone who's been running a server and just adds pointless noise
